Person A:I'm not a feminist, but I do I agree that we should all be equal, regardless of gender. And I think THAT is worth fighting for.
Person B:I'm not a feminist, but I am pretty sick of getting sexually harassed on the streets. And I think THAT is worth fighting for.
Person C:I'm not a feminist, but I do think it's shitty that my colleague gets paid less per hour than myself for no reason she, or I, can discern. And I think THAT is worth fighting for.
Person D:I'm not a feminist, but I think that women should have control over what they do with their bodies. And I think THAT is worth fighting for.
Person E:I'm not a feminist, but I am getting tired of seeing the same generic woman everywhere telling me I'm not matching up to the proper standard of beauty. It makes me feel bad. And I think THAT is worth fighting.
Person F:I'm not a feminist, but I hate that my partner was raped and then blamed for it, even accused of lying to get attention. And I think THAT is worth fighting.
Person G:I'm not a feminist. I'm more of an "equalist" :) And I think THAT is worth fighting for.
FEMINIST PERSON:WHEN WILL YOU ALL REALISE THAT IT IS FEMINISTS WHO ARE FIGHTING FOR ALL OF THOSE THINGS YOU DEEM WORTH FIGHTING FOR, AND HAVE BEEN ALL ALONG. FEMINISM IS NOT ABOUT BOLSTERING ONE GENDER ABOVE OTHERS. IT IS ABOUT FIGHTING FOR EQUALITY BY IMPROVING THE LIVES OF THE ONES THAT ARE SYSTEMATICALLY FUCKED OVER.
If you can see that systematic oppression is a real thing, why can't you see how oppressors intentionally perpetrate false representations of freedom fighters?
“When a woman enjoys her sexuality without hurting anyone else, but someone finds out about it, the response is to insult her, shame her, bring her down and make sure she never does it again. But the response to rape, and “jokes” about rape, which trivialize and normalize violent, traumatic and sometimes life-threatening acts against women is—somehow—to laugh?”—“Kat,” Slut-Shaming vs. Rape Jokes (via steviemcfly)
“At that moment I was sure. That I belonged in my skin. That my organs were mine and my eyes were mine and my ears, which could only hear the silence of this night and my faint breathing, were mine, and I loved them and what they could do. There was so much water in so many places, rushing everywhere, up and down, the water on top moving so much faster than the water below it. Under the water was sand, then rocks, miles of rocks, then fire.
But I was getting tired. We needed to get out of the water before we mistook it for a bed. I was sure that was how people drowned; not with a fight, not with thrashing but with thoughts of rest.”—
In Tina Fey’s book Bossypants, she dedicates a chapter to responding to hate messages.

"In my opinion Tina Fey completely ruined SNL. The only reason she’s celebrated is because she’s a woman and an outspoken liberal. She has not a single funny bone in her body."
Dear jerkstore, Huzzah for the Truth Teller! Women in this country have been over-celebrated for too long. Just last night there was a story on my local news about a “missing girl,” and they must have dedicated seven or eight minutes to “where she was last seen” and “how she might have been abducted by a close family friend,” and I thought, “What is this, the News for Chicks?” Then there was some story about Hillary Clinton flying to some country because she’s secretary of state. Why do we keep talking about these dumdums? We are a society that constantly celebrates no one but women and it must stop! I want to hear what the men of the world have been up to. What fun new guns have they invented? What are they raping these days? What’s Michael Bay’s next film going to be? When I first set out to ruin SNL, I didn’t think anyone would notice, but I persevered because - like you trying to do a nine-piece jigsaw puzzle - it was a labor of love. I’m not one to toot my own horn, but I feel safe with you, jerkstore, so I’ll stay it. Everything you ever hated on SNL was by me, and anything you ever liked was by someone who did it against my will.
If you want a SUREFIRE way to get likes/comments on your Facebook status, post about:
How old you are. Every other person in your grade is feelin’ the heat of the impending doom of graduation also, and everyone likes a relatable status.
How fast the summer is flying. Easy. We all know how SKOOL SUX and SUMMER R GOOD BCUZ THERE R NO TESTS IN SUMMER.
Making fun of New Jersey. This works especially well if you go to a university in which 60% of the students are from New Jersey, and the other 40% is from a state that surrounds New Jersey and likes to make fun of it. You might just get hate texts, too!!
How much you miss people you go to school with. Guaranteed notifications from the people you’re directly living with, as well as comments from others who are living in the same building, and shitting their pants about it. And, apparently, everyone’s going to be jumping at the chance to immediately take shots when you enter your room.
Note: I have done all of these, except for the last one.
Unfolding enveloping missiles of soul Recall senses sadly Mirage like soft blue like lanterns below To light the way gladly Whether whistling heaven’s clouds disappear Where the wind withers memory Whether whiteness whisks soft shadows away Feel flows (White hot glistening shadowy flows) Feel goes (Black hot glistening shadowy flows)
Unbending never ending tablets of time Record all the yearning Unfearing all appearing message divine Eases the burning Whether willing witness waits at my mind Whether hope dampens memory Whether wondrous will stands tall at my side Feel flows (White hot glistening shadowy flows) Feel goes (Black hot glistening shadowy flows)
Encasing all embracing wreath of repose Engulfs all the senses Imposing, unclosing thoughts that compose Retire the fences Whether wholly heartened life fades away Whether harps heal the memory Whether wholly heartened life fades away Whether wondrous will stands tall at my side Whether whiteness whisks soft shadows away Feel goes (White hot glistening shadowy flows) Feel flows (Black hot glistening shadowy flows) Feel goes (White hot glistening shadowy flows) Feelings to grow (White hot glistening shadowy flows)
